Bluetick Coonhound    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive

Honey is an aging hound with very pretty markings and really decent temperament toward her owners and in general towards others. She is good tolerant of other dogs but let's them know when she's reached her limit. She travel well in cars and RVs and does not run or stray when in the woods or away from home. Strangely enough she will run from home if she gets the chance but always comes home within 20 minutes or less. She does howl if left outdoors undatendened. She is healthy and very low energy and docile in the house. She is house broken and it is not insulated for her to spend 5-7 hours in the home while we are away at work. She doesn't ... (Read More)chew or destroy. All in all she would make a great pet for an older companion or people without kids as she lives to snuggle and be with her masters. we reacued her about five years ago as friend for our labradors(our other hunting dogs). However we now have two children under 6 and the past year has proven, despite our efforts that her tolerance for our growing family and children is just not there. She has now bitten everyone in our family for misc reasons. We are 90% sure it's just because we are two rambunctious of a group for at her age. No serious bites yet but we cannot afford to rest with a baby under 1 year old and sadly it's time to give her a chance in a different home. Fell feee to contact with questions. (Less)

Molly came from Maricopa Shelter as a bite dog. We recommend older children due to the bite history. However, Molly has had ear infections for most of her life and they have been untreated. We are hoping the new treatment will relieve her pain and she will be a bit more tolerant of children, who must have been ... Molly is 8 years old and would love a home, even an apartment home with owners that will take her for a walk and leave her favorite channel 'Animal Planet' on while they are away at school or work. She will be very happy to wait for your return. Please come meet Molly and give her the real forever home she truly deserves. 602-316-8919 (no texts please) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-15-00443Little Anne (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

HI, my name is 'Little Anne' because I remind my foster Mom and sister of the hunting dogs they read about in the book Where the Red Fern Grows. I am about 1 %BD years young. One day I was left on the street and a nice lady brought me in to her apartment. She wanted to keep me but I don't always know how to play nice with little dogs yet, and she had 2. She gave me a really nice fluffy blanket to sleep on and a matching harness, leash and collar so I gave her lots of hugs and kisses. She called the people listed on my 'chip' and they said they didn't want me L so I got sad. I think that is why I bark at some people and dogs or maybe ... (Read More)my first owners forgot to take me to school with the other dogs and people so that I could get used to being around them. I am getting lots of practice meeting new people and dogs at my foster home and I am getting much better. I am really smart and make my whole family laugh when I give high fives and roll around asking for belly rubs. I have a REALLY good nose and I smell everything. I heard my foster mom say that I would be really happy if I could live in a house with a big backyard or maybe even a farm where I can run and hunt. I might be ok with living in a smaller house but I definitely would need to get out and run each day or I might complain or forget my manners. I am really good at going to the bathroom outside and go in my kennel when they ask me to. I might need a family that has owned dogs before or has experience with dogs like me since I like to hunt and catch small animals (including cats). I get so excited to meet new people that sometimes I bark and sound angry but really I just want to make sure you won't hurt me or my family! My dream job would be 'hunting companion' or 'search and rescue'. I am really smart and willing to learn so I am open to other jobs as well. If you think we would be a good match, please call One by One Animal Rescue to set up a time to meet. I can't wait to meet you! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bluetick Coonhound in Arizona
Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
