Rescue Me ID: 17-10-20-00451Nero (male)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Nero is a wonderful dog, he's been an intricate part of our family since we adopted him in 2016 as a young puppy. He does have food aggression issues with other animals only, which we have worked on, he does well now unless he's really hungry. The sole reason Nero needs a new home, for which we are heartbroken about, is he can not be in a home with cats. We want Nero to go to a loving home where he can continue to thrive. He is in a home with 2 other dogs, his best friend a Jack Russell mix (the brown one in the video). He's a good dog, a sweet dog, loves to play fetch, go on hikes, and play. Nero is Kennel trained, house broken, and ... (Read More)has basic obedience. he is 25% stafford terrier, 25% Blue Tick Coonhound, 12.5 % shar-pei, 12.5 mixed breed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-08-00663Shylee (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Shylee is a precious Hound x Mastiff mix girl. She is about 11 months old and is 78 lbs! She is house trained and can use a doggie door. This girl has lots of love to give and is ready to find her forever home! Shylee is super sweet but is a little shy at first, so she does best with a patient introduction. Although she takes a bit to warm up, she gives lots of cuddles once she does! She is a little unsure of kiddos so we recommend a home with kids age 10+. Shylee knows some basic commands such as sit, no, off, shake and high five! She also loves to play fetch and tug-o-war! Shylee likes her kennel and dog bed and loves a good bath or ... (Read More)shower! She also doesn't like to share her food with other dogs, so a separate eating spot may be best. Her adoption fee is $350. To apply, fill out an adoption application at BigBonesCanineRescue.com. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bluetick Coonhound in Colorado
Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
