Rescue Me ID: 15-08-19-00548Molly (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

My husband found a blue tick hound about 3-4 weeks ago. We named her Molly. She was severely underweight (barely 30 pounds) with hookworm, heartworm, and an ear infection in both ears. We took her to the vet and paid for everything to be taken care of (treatment for hookworm, ears, heartworm, rabies shot, vitamins, fish oils, vaccines, etc). We didn't want to abandon her so we have kept her and have been getting her well. She is putting on weight and finishing her second round of hookworm meds this week. Her first heartworm injection is coming up at the end of September with First Coast No More Homeless Pets. The vet thinks she may be ... (Read More)about 4 -5 years of age. I am writing because I am going back to work Monday (teacher) and was wondering if there was someone out there to foster her through this time. We have two other dogs and it is difficult with three dogs. We want her to get well and are paying for her care but it's just too much work and I will not have the same time once school starts to do it all. I need help. Is there anyone who is willing to take this on? She is a sweet girl. She gets along with our dogs but she is also good by herself. She rides good in the car and just lies down. We would also like it for her to be in a loving home once she is all better. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Thanks!!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-13-00721Beau (male)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia, Obese

Beau's owner had a stroke so he needs a new forever home. I'm the dog sitter and have known him since he was born. His mom is a walker hound but he is larger than her and was the only brown puppy so his dad may have been a lab since he has the size of a lab more. He is super sweet with everyone and everything. He had 2 cats in his home and wouldn't hurt a fly (actually he does he flies lol) but my cats and small dogs are intimidated by his size. My medium dog loves him so much he licks his ears. Beau adores that attention. He is playful but laid back. He is crate trained and needs a fenced yard. He needs a diet bc he was spoiled and is ... (Read More)overweight now, which is really not good since he has a back knee with dysplasia. This doesn't seem to bother him at all though. He is large (prob around 70-80lbs) but thinks he is a lap dog. He is super sweet! He nudges you with his nose for petting;) (Less)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rosoco is a great dog with a loyal attitude. He is house trained, good with kids that are older and over 10. Rosco, needs a home where he can play and run. He is very quiet, loves to go for walks and runs, plays fetch, but doesn't always bring it back. He listens well and is trained to sit, stay and come when called. He can be a little stubborn, but for the most part he goes along with the crowd.

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Olly is a big athletic puppy, full of love and play. HE didn't come into rescue that way, he was almost dead when we got the call from animal control that this dog was not going to live out the day without help. But his sad and bad days are over. Olly has gobs of personality and is very cuddly too. He is an unapologetic beggar and counter surfer but he is so much fun he will win your heart... if you are a kind person looking for a great dog who is up to all kinds of shenanigans then Olly is your man... please call Audrey at 484-844-0374 for more information!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bluetick Coonhound in Florida
Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
