I AM A WALKER HOUND (breed was not provided as an option for this posting) Hank was found as a stray in Mountain Home and taken to the shelter. His owner never came to look for him. We believe Hank has hung up his hunting collar and prefers to be a family companion dog. He is a great guest at his foster home. Gets along with 10 dogs of different sizes. Gives them all kisses. He loves to run with the other dogs when chasing the ball. He uses the dog door, he is crate trained, and has good house manners. He adores my 6 year old great grandson. Hank should get some basic training due to his breed, he has his nose to the ground and can pull at times. A friend who raised hounds confirmed he is a Walker Hound. He has one blue eye and one brown. He loves to be petted and cuddle next to you when watching TV. I had to list him as a Blue Tick Hound because the options for Breed on this site does not offer just :Hound: or :Walker Hound:. Please contact me for additional pictures and information. We offer a two week sleep-over prior to committing to the adoption to allow you time to make sure he is the right fit for your family. Hank Is not a backyard dog, he sleeps inside. Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
