|Rescue Me ID: 14-01-05-00273Homer - IN TRAINING (male)|
My name is Homer and I'm a very outgoing 2 year old Red Tick/Fox Hound mix weighting in at 40 lbs. I entered the RPSM Correctional Companion Program on January 17th where I'm learning all my basic commands and maybe some cute tricks. I'm a quiet dog and my trainers say I pay very good attention when we are training. So far I have mastered my Sit, Down, Stand, and Place commands. I'm getting better at walking on a leash when we go out for walks. I get along great with the other dogs in my program and when meeting strangers I will sit and allow them to pet me. I can entertain myself for quite awhile with my toys, thought I do love to chase them too. My adopter will receive an operators manual so we can continue to enjoy and practice the great training I'm receiving now. I'm neutered, UTD on all my shots, HW, and FT. I have a microchip in case I get lost and will require a physical fenced in yard to keep me safe. RPSM recommends homes with children 6 years and older. If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application today by going to www.rpsm.org. My adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
