This handsome American English Coonhound (not Blue Tick, there was no breed option!) was found wandering in rural NC and rescued by a 'hound angel' who's unable to keep him. Sanford is young, approx. 1-2 years-old, 46 lbs, and has received his basic vetting, though has not yet been neutered and will need treatment for heartworm. Contributing funds available! There's just SO much to love about this boy! Playful, happy, intelligent, housebroken and leashed trained, gets along with other dogs, fine with cats (!), enjoys car rides and cuddling, is respectful around the house. We don't want Sanford to end up as so many do, and would love to ... (Read More)find him a permanent home. If one can't be found immediately, he'd be grateful to stay as a guest while we work to find him a forever family. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-05-00314Patience (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

There is no other, any sweeter than this beautiful young lady! Meet 'Patience'. As a young first-time mother, Patience found herself in need of rescue...along came one - she raised her pups up and they were weaned/adopted, about that time the rescue had an orphan litter that needed a nurse mom....Patience happily obliged taking on the orphaned litter, she raised them up to weaning/adoption - and what to you know, another orphan group of puppies needed a nurse mom...Patience to the rescue, she accepted and raised a 3rd straight litter (2nd orphan litter she took on)!!! These pups she raised up, weaned/adopted....only 2 days after that ... (Read More)another group of orphans needed a nurse mom, Patience was willing to love these babies too but her body said enough is enough. The final orphan litter is doing well being bottle raised. After giving of herself more than any other regular mom can do - its Patience time to find a family to love her! Patience is a beautiful red-tick hound mix that is about 40 lbs and a petite medium size. She is a bit shy at first but wants to badly to be loved. She wags her tail a lot and when you pet/love on her she is so very still just soaking in the attention. Patience is young herself, between 1-2 years old, she wants to play and enjoys time in the yard. She is great with other dogs and really enjoys a doggie playbuddy/friend! She is fairly housetrained and learned a doggie door to a fenced yard very quickly (this girl is smart). She is also good in a crate (but will only accept applications that crate her minimally). Seeking a home where she can have a doggie friend to play with, prefer a fenced yard and have a loving person/family to call her own and show her how important she is just for who she is! *She is currently in a foster home, once you have an approved application we will set up an appointment for you to meet her* Apply to adopt Patience at: www.mmahrescue.org (Less)
