Rescue Me ID: 14-07-18-00100Hank (male)
Hank was found in a rural Ohio dog pound. Stray, his time was nearing an end, so Dogworks Inc. agreed to take him into rescue. He's a gorgeous English (aka Redtick) Coonhound. He's 3-4 years old and currently weighing 55 lbs. A good weight would be closer to 60-65 lbs. He's a happy, friendly boy who loves attention and cuddling. He's also very curious and loves to be outside. He's house trained and has some basic obedience training too. Hank is great with adults, children and other dogs of all ages. Cats and other smaller critters are not recommended to be around Hank. Adoption fee includes, neuter, vaccine update, heartworm check and G.I. de-woming. Adoption fee $160....For questions or application please visit www.DogworksOhio.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-25-00376Idaho (Ida) (female)
Ida is a very sweet girl. She is very gentle and has a sweet disposition. She's good with other dogs, cats, all people, and children. Ida was very happy living with my brother on a small farm in Virginia where she had plenty of room to roam. Due to a change in circumstances, my brother had to sell the farm and was not able to take Ida to his new home so my husband and I took her in a few months ago. We live in asuburb of Philadelphia on a fairly busy street and do not have a fenced in yard so have to take Ida out on a leash. Ida is not happy with this situation. She does not like being cooped up in the house all day, and being limited to being walked on a leash. She is a country girl at heart and would be much happier with afamily with a large fenced in yard. She is spayed, very healthy and up to date on all vaccinations. Shecurrently weighs 52 lbs. She loves going for rides in the car and taking long walks in the park. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-09-00104Tyson (male)
If you are looking for a dog who: Is medium to large and about as athletic as you can get Has a short easy-care coat Is energetic and loves to hunt and work outdoors When well-exercised, is easygoing and laid-back indoors Is good-natured... with people and other dogs Then Tyson is your boy! Tyson is a 3 year old coonhound. He would be best in a hunting home. We do not recommend a home with small children as previous owner said he showed food aggression. We are not seeing any issues with him at the shelter.

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-13-00576Griffin (male)
Griffin would do best in a home with older children. We suggest that he be an only dog because he really enjoys the full attention from his family and would prefer not to share them. He has been in play groups and has done well with many of our shelter residents, but he has been less successful in homes he has been placed in with other dogs (he was placed in homes with smaller dogs than he and ones with persistent personalities ). He a smart dog who trains easily.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bluetick Coonhound in Pennsylvania
Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
