Animal ID: Pa # S 318 2015Huck (male)
Huck is 9 mos. old, 58 lbs. He has no agression tendencies, and is a happy healthy dog. He needs more open space and attention than I can give. He is house trained, and has very few issues to train out. I am ok to provide a trial weekend for any prospective owner. He has amazing smell and could be trained to hunt. He is agile and fast. You would definitely need a good fence, he likes to get out and roam, but returns on his own.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00509Lady (female)
Lady was rescued by me from our local SPCA. She was picked up as a stray. I believe she is a purebred but can't be sure. She has been evaluated by a vet as having been spayed. She has current shots and is house broken. Lady loves to hunt any fur bearing animal but is afraid of loud noises. I believe she was trained to hunt but when it was discovered that she is gun shy they most likely just turned her loose. She is afraid of thunder storms. She should not be left alone during storms. I live in a populated area where the neighbors complain when she gets loose and 'hunts' all night baying and howling. She will eventually come home which is unusual for a hound. Lady is good with kids and all adults as well as other dogs. I love her and it's with heavy heart that I must adopt her out. I will not take her back to the shelter because they are putting too many animals down and that's NOT an option with me. I'm located in northwest PA. Please contact me if interested. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-13-00576Griffin (male)
Griffin would do best in a home with older children. We suggest that he be an only dog because he really enjoys the full attention from his family and would prefer not to share them. He has been in play groups and has done well with many of our shelter residents, but he has been less successful in homes he has been placed in with other dogs (he was placed in homes with smaller dogs than he and ones with persistent personalities ). He a smart dog who trains easily.

Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
