Rescue Me ID: 17-04-25-00023LadyBird- 2 or 3 yrs (female)

Bluetick Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL MADE IT OUT!!!! LIKE ALL OF THE WILDLIFE THAT FLED FROM THE GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE FIRE, THIS DOG RAN FOR HER LIFE. We have reason to believe that she was the only one of the 'family', people and animals, that made it out and to safety alive!!! Obviously she has been used for breeding, but that is over with now!! Before she leaves us (Almost Home rescue) she will be spayed, up to date on her shots (parvo/distemper and rabies), micro-chipped etc. She is heartworm negative and on prevention now and has been wormed. We are guessing her age to be about 3 years. She is obviously used to being in a house because from the ... (Read More)get-go she has had only a very few (piddle type) accidents. She likes a comfortable dog bed and gets along great with the other dogs here. We call her our HOUSE HOUND :-) If you are interested in adopting this great girl, please email us for an adoption application at: Rescueadoptionsanctuary@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $300. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-08-00010Bonnie Belle (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Bonnie Belle is a very special dog and needs a very special adoptive family. Bonnie came into our rescue with hip dysplasia and had been accidentally stepped on which causes her knee ro become deformed. But despite the pain, Bonnie is sweet and loving. She loves people! She is so sweet and loves toys. She would do well in a family with older children, not that she has EVER done anything to a small child, we only know how she is with children 6 years and up. The best comfort level for her would possibly be only dog or only one other dog in the family. She doesn't want to be stepped on again. She is heartworm negative. Utd on shots and ... (Read More)spayed. She has been in a wonderful foster home and is needing to find her forever home. Hopefully one who has the financial means to provide the surgery she needs. Our estimates were over $500 and our fundraising efforts have failed her as Sumter has a depressed economy. She is around 3-4 years old. If interested contact us on Facebook or on our website for an adoption application. www.carolinahelpingpawsrescue.org Please help us get this sweet girl back to full function and no pain and placed in a great family! Her adoption fee is not set as we really need to get her surgery completed. A home visit and vet reference is required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-28-00685Chabo (male)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This playful boy was saved from a high kill shelter in the nick of time. His health was poor but look at him now! From out of time to lots of time! Chabo is guessed to be 3 years old and a blue heeler mix. He loves kids, and all people. He is leash-trained too! He loves to play with toys and has a high energy level so he hopes to find an active family who will give him something to do (like walking, running, hiking, lots of play). Chabo is heartworm positive and will be treated with slow kill meds. His adopters will be under contract to complete this life-saving treatment (at a local vet at rescue expense if necessary). Please consider ... (Read More)this guy if you need a running partner to keep yourself motivated to exercise! (Less)

Bluetick Coonhound Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Bluetick Coonhounds are friendly, intelligent dogs bred in the Southern United States. Blueticks are wonderful hunting dogs with a keen sense of smell. Bluetick Coonhounds normally make very good family pets, but can be difficult to train. Blueticks need a large fenced in yard. They will wander off easily to follow a scent if they are not kept on a leash. This hunting dog is not a good choice for households with small non-canine pets.
