Rescue Me ID: 17-10-16-00442Charli (female)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Charli is a very beautiful and free spirited Coonhound/Pointer mix. She is looking for a dedicated owner to spend her time with. She is about 7 years old and is still a very active dog that enjoys playing fetch and chasing small animals. Once she warms up to you she is a very loyal dog who can live either outside or has lived inside. She is housetrained as long as she has access to a dog door. She has never shown any issues meeting other dogs and enjoys having dog playmates. Charli is fixed, vaccinated, has a micro-chip and weighs about 60lbs. Because she is a Coonhound, she will not do well with any other animals such as rabbits, chickens, ... (Read More)cats, and so on. She is a very good hunter. Also because of her nature, any deer or rabbits she sees, she will do anything in her power to chase. She will run very far, and at this time will not come back on command. Since this is the case, the area she will live in need to have either a 6 foot + fence or an electric wire around the fence. Before I had a secure fence, she would escape every day over a 4-5 foot fence. She always came back home to me after running the woods all day though. Charli needs a dedicated owner to work on hher obedience skills. Specfically Charli loves to howl & bark. I have spent time trying to train her and been somewhat successful, but the hound in her takes over and she will start to ignore commands when she sees something/somewhere she wants to go. She will howl at any animals wondering outside your property. Charli does respond to 'No Speak' and will keep her quiet for a little while. Charli has the capability to be a trained and obedient dog; she just needs someone who can dedicate the time and patience to help her. I am looking for an owner that has a secure yard, is willing to spend the time to help train her and is loving towards her. I require an inspection of the home/yard that Charli will be going to and I would like the opportunity to check up on her in 4-6 months down the road. Please contact me at ryan9590@yahoo.com (Less)
